Fiona has a background in nursing, including a varied experience in general, sick children and as a specialist practitioner in general practice nursing. In 2001 she moved into nurse education at the University of Abertay as a clinical teaching fellow then subsequently as a nurse lecturer.
In 2005 she developed her career and transferred into medical education at the University of Dundee where she currently works as a senior lecturer in the Centre for Medical Education.
She is a graduate of University of Abertay Dundee (1999) and University of Strathclyde (2001 MEd, 2009 EdD). Her research interests are in reflective practice, inter-professional education, professionalism, developing the doctor as a teacher, multi-cultural education.

Writing course experience: Fiona has run the course on writing scientific papers for a wide range of participants including medical students, academics and clinical staff. She believes the most important part of a course is its personal delivery.
