About us

Tim Albert Training specialises in running short courses on effective writing and editing skills for health professionals.

What we do:
We provide in-house and open (or public) courses. The main topics are effective writing, writing for scientific journals, editing peer-reviewed journals and setting up newsletters. A standard course will last one or two days, usually with 12 participants, and uses the latest small-group teaching techniques.

All our courses are based on the fact that there are rules that can help writers, no matter what they are involved in and who the target audience will be. We concentrate on the process of writing, and aim to explode many of the myths that make writing difficult and demoralising.

What they say about our courses:

  • 'I cannot remember attending a more enjoyable workshop - really great teaching style.'
  • 'Excellent course - made the whole idea of writing a paper much less intimidating.'
  • 'I feel much more focused and confident to go away and write the paper.'
  • 'I had no publications when I came on the course four months ago. I now have three things in print... and three other papers submitted.'
  • 'The most stimulating course I have been on in a long time, and one of the most useful for the future.'
